This year has started off with a lot of changes for our family and myself so we are just trying to find our groove. I have plans to share my intentions for year and will do so when I get a minute to myself to just write or rather type up my notes (psst did you know I hand write about 60% of my blog posts first?) Anyways until then I thought I would share a Currently post with you and I hope that you share below something you’re currently doing/eating/watching/looking forward to/reading/loving. xo.

Doing: Worrying about flu season and earthquakes because anxiety sucks. Also feeding people constantly. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. When I am not cooking or putting together a snack for the big people in my family I am nursing the baby. It’s feeding time all day long around here. Beyond the feeding I have been working to declutter our home and make it a space that we all love and are comfortable in especially since Neil is now working out of our bedroom.

We started the year off with a trip to the coast for Neil’s birthday. Then I had week of solo parenting while Neil went out of town for work. I had my parents here for a bit so we did a lot of running around with them.  Now we are finding our groove.

Eating: This month we tried Sun Basket for the first time because they finally have a plant-based box! We LOVED all three recipes (see recipe 1 and recipe 2) that we tried and can’t wait to buy our next box.  I have also been eating my weight in Oat Mama bars because they taste amazing and have been keeping my milk supply going strong. Although I made the mistake of letting Edith try one of my bars and now she wants to eat them all. Some other yummy things I have been eating can be seen here, here and here.

Watching:  I am still slowly re-watching Grey’s Anatomy again because I am one of those people who loves to re-watch shows over and over. Neil and I have been watching Top Chef and 9-1-1. If you were a fan of Third Watch you might like 9-1-1; it’s not completely the same but similar idea where it follows paramedics, firefighters, cops and also includes 9-1-1 operators.

Looking forward to: The summer, the passing of flu season, feeling prepared for an earthquake. Also on a happier note seeing friends this weekend and hopefully writing a lot this weekend.

Reading: I am still working my way through The Danish Way of Parenting* Life has been a bit crazy these past few months so my reading has kind of dropped off – except for the hundreds of children’s books I read every week. If you are interested in what books we are reading as a family I will be sharing more on our Naturally Family Instagram

Loving: I am loving that we haven’t had a snowstorm this year (cue storm to happen now- lol). I am loving that my husband now works from home. We are still finding our rhythm but having the extra hours with him is pretty amazing. What can I say we hate to be away from each other.

The last time I shared a Currently was February(!!) I would say life has changed a lot since then so maybe it’s time for an update? If you are following me on Instagram you know life is a bit crazy…err challenging but we can chat more about that in a different post. Today let’s catch up on our normal currently topics and make share yours below!

Doing: My days consist of lots of nursing and making sure that my two older kids don’t get terribly injured. I am finding that my days are full but at the same time I am not getting enough cleaning/laundry done, enough workouts in (or any), spending enough time on bettering myself, blogging enough ….the list could go on and on. But as I write this I wonder what is enough? Maybe it’s time I sit with that and figure out what enough means to me.

Eating: I am eating a mix of super amazing and healthy meals such as this one, this one and this one and then a whole bunch of crap. This is me calling myself out on my horrible eating and sharing that Monday starts my goal to eat more of these and less of these

Watching:  I have been re-watching Grey’s Anatomy again because I am one of those people who loves to re-watch shows over and over. I also just finished watching Manhunt (Netflix) with Neil and if you haven’t seen it yet you should go and watch it now. Neil and I are now on to watching This Is Us and Designated Survivor most weeks.

Looking forward to: This weekend because I am going to clean the heck out of our house AND I am going to the chiropractor! It’s really the little things these days that make me happy. I also plan on cleaning the fridge and doing a big meal prep. I know I am wild!

Reading: I have been reading The Danish Way of Parenting* and this is a good reminder that I need to spend sometime this weekend reading more of it. If you are looking for a gentle perspective on parenting this is a great book to read!

Loving: I am just loving all the colorful leaves. Fall is my favorite time of year and while the PNW doesn’t have the crisp Fall air that I hold so close to my heart from my New England childhood…or rather the first 27+ years of my life there are a ton of pretty leaves out right now.

CURRENTLY.

Doing: Cleaning. Call it early nesting or just an a lack of keeping up on household chores but I feel like I spend most of my time purging and cleaning our house. We have a tiny house and with two kids I feel like we just keep accumulating more things without letting go of things. I recently went through boxes of kids clothes and shoes that I had been holding on to simple out of laziness. Finally I set up a consignment appointment and was able to get rid of a bunch of things and the remainder is being donated along with a massive amount of my old clothes that are either too worn or I just know I won’t be wearing in the near future when considering pregnancy and postpartum time.

I must be doing other things than cleaning though right? I have a really great and FREE Essential Oils for Pregnancy, Postpartum and Babies that starts next week (pssst there is still time to join us) and I am working on a Spring Detox starting the first week of April – I’ll share more when I create the group.

In other ‘doing’ news we went to Seattle for Neil’s birthday at the start of January and then we went to Vermont to visit family at the end of January. As for February the month just flew by and was mostly spent catching up on life after the holidays and all the snow that literally shut down Portland.

Thinking about: I am constantly thinking about all the things I want to get done before this baby arrives. I’m also thinking about what we need for when this baby arrives because after Alder was born we had decided on having no more children so we sold everything and now all we have is a carseat and a few swaddle blankets. I know babies don’t need a lot but for us we would like to get a nice reclining rocking chair, a bassinet, a new stock of cloth diapers and eventually we will need to figure out clothes for this baby. I (of course) want a new wrap and ring sling – what can I say it’s the babywearing educator in me and knowing that I will be wearing this baby most of the time. Comment below if you have suggestions for newborn products.

Watching:  Moana. We took the kids to see Moana as their first theater movie when we were in Vermont and since then we have been watching it at home at least every twice per week and when we aren’t we are listening to the soundtrack. I have to say I would watch this movie and listen to the soundtrack even if we didn’t have littles – it is just so good. I also re-watched/finished Haven on Netflix and Neil and I have been watching Top Chef and This is Us on the weekends. What have you been watching? Any suggestions?

Looking forward to: I am looking forward to this weekend. We have no major plans except Edith’s ballet class and doing a big declutter dump, recycle and donation drop off. Otherwise we are just enjoying the weekend and I’m hoping I can get a bit more organizing done and some work. I am also looking forward to having a mama’s night out to see Matilda at Keller Auditorium. Apparently it is “The best musical since The Lion King” according to TIME Magazine. I have seen broadway production of The Lion King and it was pretty amazing so I am hoping that this lives up to TIME Magazines claim. For those of you who are in Portland the show is running 2/28-03/05 if you want to check it out for yourself.

Reading: I have been reading Essential Oils for Pregnancy, Birth & Babies by Stephanie Fritz aka The Essential Midwife. This book has been one of the resources for my upcoming class series and I have been reading it for my own pregnancy since this is my first really using essential oils. Otherwise my reading has been limited to kids books but I am taking suggestions if you have any.

Loving: Hu Chocolate that I buy off Thrive Market because it is the best deal and the best chocolate I have ever had.I could probably do an entire post on my favorite food items right now – would that be of interest to you? Not food related I have been loving my snoogle and eye mask because without them I don’t think I could sleep. Urban Oreganics Baby Balm that Neil got be for Christmas. This baby balm is wonderful for babies but also expecting mamas and really anyone who could use a really wonderful moisturizing balm. I use mine on my stomach post-shower to help with stretch marks and to soothe my itchy belly.

Ingalls-Fairweather 2015-114

Doing: Recovering. Last Wednesday the kids and I were driving home from going to see a local kids musician and we were stopped at a red light when someone rear ended us. Luckily, we had no major car damage and the kids and are okay. As a result of the accident I have been dealing with a lot of pain on my right side and all need chiropractic work. On top of that the kids are having some trouble sleeping since the accident. Long story short life has been thrown a little off track. I had intentions of getting out a fun report on my latest body composition exam and a few gift guides which just haven’t happened. Hoping to get life back on track this week.

Thinking about: All that we have to deal with regarding this accident. The holidays coming and how messy our house is.

Watching: I have been finishing up NCIS lately and watching a variety of YouTube channels.

Looking forward to: Neil being off work for 10 whole days! Getting back to normal life, workouts and feeling better.

Reading: I am currently (still) reading Yell Less, Love More

Loving: Coffee.

Doing: It’s currently 6am and I am sitting on the couch going through emails while Alder climbs on me because Daylight Savings you win. I am attempting to get through as much work as I can before the big one wakes up.

Thinking about: All the things that I need to do today which include clean the house because we have a new sitter coming so Neil and I can finally go on a date night, I  need to pickup snacks for the house, I need to get everything ready for an all day event I am going to tomorrow and I need to do about 30 loads of laundry. Oh and I need to locate my phone that fell behind the bed.

Watching: I just finished my yearly Gilmore Girls watch and now I am back on to NCIS which is one of my favorite shows but I hadn’t seen it in years until it finally returned to Netflix. When I don’t fall asleep putting Alder to bed at 7:30p Neil and I have been watching The Flash.

Looking forward to: Date night. Seriously this is a rare thing for us but we are working on changing this and fingers crossed this sitter works out.

Reading: I am currently reading Yell Less, Love More.

Loving: Going on hikes/walks. Sweaters. Fall make-up. Coffee.
