{Pregnancy Update} 39 Weeks

How far along are you: 39 Weeks! (Well really 39 weeks 1 day now)

How big is the baby:

Your baby’s waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it’s likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath. (source)

Baby’s Gender: We both are on the fence. At times I lean more towards girl and Neil is leaning more towards boy- we both are pretty clueless at this point.

Baby’s Name: We have a name for a boy and have 2 for a girl.

Weight Gained: Not positive 30 lbs?

Clothes: Pretty much only wearing dresses and the occasional tunic with leggings.

How are you feeling: This week I have been feeling a little up and down.  I started off the week really motivated getting tons of work done and I even went on a mad woman cleaning spree Monday night (Neil thought I had lost it). Tuesday I had an acupuncture appointment that went really well and it felt amazing, I was so relaxed and even took a nap! Wednesday rolled around and Neil and I were both pretty lazy and then yesterday I was just feeling a bit in a funk.  I am hoping that today I can get started off on the right foot and get some work done, a little light cleaning and relax before we head to our midwife appointment this afternoon.

What do you miss: At this point I miss cool weather (this heat is killing me), RUNNING and being able to bend over comfortably.

Symptoms: (source)

Cravings: Frozen blueberry lemonade. Tempeh Sandwiches.

How are you sleeping: Sleeping has been going alright.  We actually moved our room around a little bit to fit in the pack n’ play (where baby will sleep for the first few months) and this meant we had to move our fans around and now they are in the perfect spots for both of us so we are nice and cool at night.

Workouts: This week I went to yoga which was really wonderful, went swimming (this feels amazing) and did a lot of waddling.

Things I’m looking forward to: Meeting our baby!

Spotted: I am now writing for ERGObaby so head over and check out my Staying Fit and Eating Healthy During Pregnancy Post.

{Pregnancy Update} 38 Weeks

How far along are you: 38 Weeks! (Well really 38 weeks 3 days now)

How big is the baby:

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she’s over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If she’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she’s 9 months old. That’s because a child’s irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she’s born, but they usually won’t get “lighter” or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.) (source)

Baby’s Gender: We both are on the fence.

Baby’s Name: We have a name for a boy or a girl.  Choosing a boys name was easy for us and was decided upon months ago but the girls name has been a little more challenging but we finally decided on one.

Weight Gained: 28 lbs

Clothes: Mostly just wearing dresses as they are the most comfortable.

How are you feeling: I am feeling pretty good. I have been napping in the afternoons which has been nice and I’m still getting out for my walks. Wednesday I had some cramping, low back pain and Braxton Hicks contractions and had Neil convinced it was almost time but of course here I am writing this so obviously it wasn’t time. I am also feeling pretty great that I AM OFFICIALLY A WAHM/SAHM!

What do you miss: I miss having more clothes to wear. I miss running.

Symptoms: (source)

Cravings: Thai food. Water. Almond Milk.

How are you sleeping: Sleeping is going okay.  I have been waking up around 3am and am wide awake.  I have been either getting up and doing something like working on blog posts, organizing the nursery or I lay in bed and put Netflix on my phone.

Workouts: This week I went swimming and for some waddles.

Things I’m looking forward to: Meeting our baby!

{Pregnancy Update} 37 Weeks

How far along are you: 37 Weeks!

How big is the baby:

Your baby is now considered “full term,” even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you’re planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there’s a medical reason to intervene earlier.)

Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don’t be surprised if your baby’s hair isn’t the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz. (source)

How are you feeling: I am feeling super pregnant. I have been having some strong Braxton Hicks contractions and lots of pelvis/groin pain.

What do you miss: I miss having more clothes to wear. I miss running.

Symptoms: (source)

Cravings: nachos. pasta salad. water. lemonade.

How are you sleeping: Sleeping is going alright this week, however I would say a big part of that is because I have been exhausted.  Monday I worked a 10 hour day and Tuesday a 9 hour day so I have been wiped out by 8pm and have been sleeping pretty well until 3am. Then at 3am I am ready to get up but instead I have been turning Netflix on my phone on and listen/watching Bones.

Workouts: This week I haven’t gotten in my workouts like I usually do because of my crazy work schedule but I did make it to prenatal yoga today.  I also walked a ton of laps around the hotel during our convention so I could get a little activity in and because sitting for too long was just painful.

Things I’m looking forward to: Finishing up work. Meeting our baby!!
